I'm not dead; I'm on Facebook
I'm sitting at my desk at work, overlooking the Charles River, and waiting for the fireworks. It's beautiful out there.
Because Dougmander is a teacher, he gets into the Museum of Science (MoS) for free. Therefore, I got us a two-person membership to the museum this year. Smart, right? Well, the problem is, when MoS has special events, like, say, their July 4 party, I can only buy two tickets. I was going to take F myself, and let Dougmander enjoy the evening in peace at home, but then I had to get a cold. Feh.
Now, you can't park at the MoS today, so you need somewhere else to park. (What? Take public transit? With lawnchairs and four-year-old? hahahahaha) So, I rode along with them, so that they could park at my office, just a few blocks from the MoS. And so, here I am.
Although I'm sad not to be at MoS party, this is also a pretty swell place from which to watch. Only another hour to boom time.
So, what better time to finally catch up on LJ? Yeah, I could work, but...
So let's see, when last I left, Fiona had turned four. Since then, she's had a recital, and a tournament, and a faux-graduation. The graduation was from Pre-K, but she'll be in the same class again next year, since she can't go to K until 2010.
Of course we went to the opening weekend at StoryLand, and managed a hike, too.
Big excitement in June: we got a kitten (yes, F got to name her, how did you guess?), and I got an iPhone. I love them both insanely.
Big excitement in July: does anyone reading this not know? I'm helping hhw move from Portland to Amherst. I am so excited for the trip and the outcome. It's win-win for me (with a big heaping thanks to dougmander for doing solo childcare for a week and half).
Can't wait to find out what F makes of the fireworks -- if she stays awake!
